The short answer
Before publishing AI-assisted content, check that every fact, number and source is real; the page answers the search intent in the first lines; it includes first-hand experience or original examples; it has no generic filler or repeated phrases; local details (prices, places, laws) are accurate for India and Kerala; claims follow legal and ad rules; links work; and an expert has reviewed it with their name on it.
Before you start
By the end of this SOP
Every AI-assisted page is checked, corrected and signed off by a named reviewer.
- Time
- 15–30 minutes per page
- You’ll need
- The draft, the brief (SOP 351) and a reviewer who knows the topic.
- Who does this
- The editor or SEO lead, with a subject expert.
About this SOP: why it matters, where and when
Why it matters: Invented facts, generic pages and wrong local details lose trust with readers, clients and search engines.
Where: Google Docs or your CMS, and a checklist sheet.
When: Before every AI-assisted page, post or ad goes live.
Stage 1
Check accuracy
- 1
Highlight every number, date, statistic, quote and source. Verify each one; delete anything you can’t confirm.
- 2
Check platform steps against the current interface (menus change often).
- 3
Check local details: prices in ₹, GST, Indian laws such as the DPDP Act, and place names.
Stage 2
Check usefulness
- 1
The first 2–3 sentences answer the main question directly.
- 2
There is at least one original element: a real example, screenshot, data, template or expert tip.
- 3
Remove filler intros, repeated points and AI clichés (“in today’s fast-paced world”, “unlock”, “delve”).
Stage 3
Check brand, legal and SEO
- 1
Tone matches the brand voice; reads like a person from the business wrote it.
- 2
No guarantees, medical, financial or legal advice without qualified review; no copied text (run a plagiarism check on key sections).
- 3
Title, meta description, headings, internal links, image alt text and schema are in place (SOP 218).
Stage 4
Sign off
- 1
Add the author and reviewer names and a “last reviewed” date.
- 2
Log the page in your content sheet with the checks done and the next review date (6–12 months).
Practice & check
Now do it for real
Reading is not doing. Open your own account and complete this task before you move on.
Practice task (5 min)
Take an AI-generated paragraph about Google Ads costs in India and mark every claim you would need to verify.
Prove it
Two questions. Get both right and this SOP is done.
Common questions
Do I need to label content as AI-written?
There’s no general legal requirement in India for blog content, but be transparent where it matters and always have human review.
Can AI detectors tell if content is AI-written?
They are unreliable. Focus on accuracy and usefulness instead.
How often should AI-assisted pages be reviewed?
Every 6–12 months, or sooner for fast-changing topics like ad platforms.
Done. That’s a real skill, not a certificate.
